I decided to go through the “I’m going to read this later” stack that was covered with dust an inch thick. In the back of an old issue of Mean Magazine, accompaning the column “Get Mean with Todd Rassmunsen,” I found this illustration. I decided to play with it. I had no right to do it, I know.

This quote came to me as I thought again about the efforts being made around improving the present state of the planet Earth and its atmosphere:

Have we changed our collective state of mind? This is primary, the required effort, the task at hand. That is, if you dig living on Earth.

Living Beyond Means

I took the following quizzes and I was surprised, almost shocked. I’m conscientious about my consumption and make sincere efforts to re-purpose, conserve and have as gentle an impact on Earth as possible. Most of the time I ride a bicycle for transportation, grocery shop at the farmers markets, buying organic and local, have made energy saving improvements around home, and yet, if everyone lived like I do, one Earth would not be enough.

Consumer Consequences

I may have to cease traveling, unless I build up my walking pace and stamina, and I may have to stop eating all-together. But seriously, this news was sobering and kind of discouraging, and at the same time, reinforced the reality that those large entities, institutions, companies, and legislative bodies that do not wish to make concessions or efforts to re-purpose, conserve and otherwise revamp the way they go about doing what they do, they will put us all out of house and home.
